Q. I recall from past message feeds that a lot of you liked using higher rpm machines when polishing terrazzo. How high of an rpm do you recommend?

A. We polish with polishing compound if you are talking about a high gloss and  a 175 rpm swing machine. Like John said you would splash all over at higher rpm. We use the same as the monkey pads for the satin finishes  on a 175 rpm wet.

If you use them (monkey pads or similar) on a burnisher dry they will blow dust in the air. That is not good.

High rpm's and diamonds wet or dry in my opinion are best for satin finishes. If you want that high gloss look you really need the polishing powders or compounds to give that final pop.
