Tony,
i am going to be posting some pics and later a video on terrazzo restoration..the pics will be there by this weekend. you can access it via my website and clicking on the facebook link..some of the pictures will be showing how we repair the cracks and how we fill the holes. we just came up with new technique using superglue to hold rocks in for the really small repairs..we are repairing about 100 holes on this one floor.

for filling cracks, it depends how wide the crack. you could chase the crack , but on historic jobs they dont allow that. if it is wide enough you fill with chips and color matched epoxy. for really thin cracks, we just fill the crack with the epoxy. One thing i like to do is fill the crack with rapid set mortar, then set the chips in the crack...otherwise the epoxy will lead through the crack and you willhave to refill the  crack. Another technigue is to mix cavasil to thicken the terroxy epoxy to a peanut butter thickness. feel free to call me with questions if you like. 816 918 0135

fill and grind the cracks before your last metal cut and it will all grind out even.

Subject: [sccpartners] Terrazzo with mortar

We are doing a bid on an 55 year old terrazzo floor. About 400 sf feet of the floor had marble installed over it. All the marble tiles were removed. There still is a considerable amount of white mortar to remove.
What would be the best method to do this.
Also what techniques are there for repairing cracks in terrazzo. Width is less then a 1/16 of an inch. Are there any videos available or training films for repairing terrazzo?

Thaks
