If the mastic is thick enough and it is gooey, you can freeze it with carbon dioxide and it will make it brittle and it will scrape right up.

We need to remove this mastic. We dry ground with 50's but it was barely cutting it. So we grabbed some mastic stripper and saw it was helping a bit. It ended up spreading all over and making a more sticky mess. Does anybody have any tips on how I can remove this 50 year old mastic?
