Depending on the depth of the etch honing powder can work. You should be able to blend in with little difficulty

The mosaic floor was originally a high gloss finish. The homeowner had somebody come in and hone it so that it had less shine. The marble looks to me like white thassos. It appears like it has been etched with something. Any suggestions on honing this to match the other finish? Will honing powders alone remove etching?
