Hey Stu
After reading your post it occurred to me what used to happen to our drivesr after  long stretches of back to back jobs. The temps and extra help would damage the velco by rubbing the driver on the surface without diamonds or the velcro would get so gunked up with slurry the diamonds wouldnt stay on and the velcro would get damaged.
Give each guy his own set and make them accountable.
With the pad drivers on floors-try running spacers between your diamonds and the driver.
As the diamonds wear down the driver get trashed from coming in contact with the surface.
Spacers will keep your pad drivers from being damaged.
You can always change out your velcro if it gets damaged.
Hope this helps.

We are currently using the hook half of a Velcro strip as the grip between our angle grinder (with 7" pad driver) and our honing, polishing and buffing pads.  Most of the time it works fairly well, but particularly when the surfaces of the pads or the Velcro get wet, the pads don't seem to stay in place well.  This is also the case at times with our floor machines - as we are using the same Velcro hook system.

Does anyone have any thoughts on a better system of attaching pads to our machines?
