I use Tape & Drape from Trimaco. It is expensive but you cut masking time because it's so easy. I add extra $ to each job for masking materials.

I like the butchers paper for floors. It's cheap, easy and fast way to protect. I found it yesterday at Costco for $16 a roll which is CHEAP. I only use the pretaped stuff on vanity tops and counter tops because it contours to the drawers and is longer than the butcher paper.

Try butcher paper from pos paper. It's much easier to use and in alot of instances you can re-use it.  Just put a piece of blue tape on the wall about every 4 feet or so and keep the waxed side out. You can also use it for walk off mats and to rest the equipment on.
