I have thought of trying a concrete densifier, would also allow the grout to pop a better shine. Would have to be applied at the 120 resins stage

Mike, great website. I haven't had much problem with sanded grout on floors, although have had problems in showers. I wonder if color-sealing would work as well as impregnating sealer to shore up the sand?  Happy New Year!

Its a living i know, but I dont get a lot of pleasure out of honing brand new floors that were only installed a couple weeks ago. I have done my best to get the word out about using unsanded grout on polished marble, but people just go with price and pay untrained tile setters on marble instead of using marble setters. I got spoiled when i first started out because I was used to working on floors set by the Union tile setters  who always grouted with epoxy, which I think is the best way to do it.

The installer is correct it will crack out over time if the grout line is too large.  Marble grout lines are to be no larger than 1/8 inch. Sound like th installer in your area need to understand the differences in grouts and their uses.
