Honestly it looks topical, like it has been painted on. One well known computer / web expert from Stone & Tile Pros suggested Dazzle Grout by Laticrete. Honestly that makes sense . In some ares it has faded.

As far as I know you cant but chances are you may expose and polish the metal when you polish the granite.
