Hello all,

I have a project that has Creme Marfil 18x18 tiles with a decorative pattern in the middle which is made of 12x12 creme marfil and bordered with a mosiac that includes creme marfil/black marble/emperador brown marble. The GC took photos while the installer installed. This helped me with some clues. During the install, the finish appears to be a clear, gloss finish. The surface I saw had etch marks, lots of haze, some orange peel and a swirl pattern that only a machine can make but deep enough to make me think it was done with diamonds.

Alex saw my photos and told me his thought was that it was cleaned with a grout haze remover and then a crystallizer was used to try to shine it back up, unsuccessfully. We also found chunks of what was used to bond the tile and the Ditra.  It is a very light weight, bright white mastic looking product.  I did find many loose tiles and tiles that have cracked. I also found areas where grout was pulling out (not just shrinking). This concerns me because I don't want to cause further damage with my machines if it is not bonded properly.

What I have described is on everything in this installation.  Walls, floors, showers, etc.  About 1800 sq. ft. total

Here is a safe link to my photos I took at the project site: http://ppl.ug/wnzyFljjEsk/

Can I get your thoughts and opinions?
