Ron,

You can make a poultice using DE powder and mineral sprits. Mix into a pancake batter consistency , apply over stain cover with plastic and place holes in the plastic. Allow the  poultice  a minimum  of 24 hours or until the poultice is dry. Remove the poultice and hopefully the stain is gone, if the stain is lighter a second application may be needed.

Subject: [sccpartners] Oil based stain

Friends,

We are attempting to help one of our contractor business partners. We are dealing with what appears to be an oil/grease type of stain. The material is either a Basaltina or Quartzite -charcoal grey. We honed the stone from 50 grit resin/ poulticed with a combo of klenzall and Dawn detergent. Then continued hone up to the 400 grit finish. Stain lighter- still visible and unacceptable. Can anyone share with me a good formula for this type of stain? Thanks in advance.
