I had exactly the same issue last year. We stripped that coating very easily and buffed in Osmo polyx oil. It looked fantastic but we told customer that it need to be redone every year but this time with no stripping. She was very happy with the results.

I looked at a black granite counter. It is 10 years old. It has a large dull spot that was a small spot and the installer tried to polish it and made it bigger and worse. There are dull spots all over the counter and along the edges. Also there is a spot that looks like the bottom of a large can that happened about a month ago. They had set a pot there over night. I pretty sure this is a resin impregnated slab ? is there any way to fix it or make it look better?
Thanks Tony
