Kevin you need to do a mock up demo especially if you are going to stain the floor. Most customers look at a magazine or store and believe they're concrete will come out the same.  I have polished concrete from 2003 and this has happened many times.  Also mock up can give you an idea of what cost you are looking at

Kevin,

If your like me, a smaller company, every job is important. I will usually charge $7.00 a square foot for polish and add a $1.00 per square foot if they want color. The edge work is usually done by hand, a minimum of 2 passes, 100-400 grit to blend with the rest of the floor. Corners we bring all the way to polish by hand. The big machines usually get about an inch from the walls on a straight line. The sealing of the floor will tie it all together. The larger jobs we price lower per square the smaller higher. Price also varies with how busy we are. If your busy, charge more. If your slow,  drop price and get to work. Good luck.

Partners,
I have been asked to polish 450 sq ft of concrete in a customer basement. The concrete has been down since October of 2012. I am looking for advise from those of you who have expertise in this area. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
