Tony, We recently did a Job where we successfully removed a stonelok finish and imparted a satin Finish on a cementious small aggregate terrazzo floor by combining 150 grit honing powder and 5x. Didn't require stripper and the stonelok was pretty tough stuff but on the thin side. We tried different approaches on sample boards of tiles coated with the stonelok and this worked the best. We started the project first by honing with the powder and then lightly polishing. We then combined the two into one step and found it worked just as well with the same result. The acrylic may be thicker than the stonelok which may affect the process.B—

Hi John,No we are not trying to strip and hone at th same time. We have been getting a number of stone floors especially travertine that have been waxed. We strip them first and then hone. Sometimes there will be some wax that you don,t see until the floor completely dries. I was wondering if putting a little bit of stripper in the water might help? Thanks TonyOn Thu, Jun 13, 2013 at 4:10 AM, John Freitag <jfreitag@thestoneandtileschool.com> wrote:
No I haven’t wondering why you would want to?
If you are trying to strip and hone at the same time the stripper would probably coat over the honing powders and not have much if any cutting effect.

Has anyone ever used honing powder and wax stripper together?
