Dayron and others

I am not a big fan of using impregnators on interior stone for the following reason,  In order for the impregnator to work effectively the stone has to be dry. In a humid environment, where Dayron lives, its almost impossible to get the stone dry. Even though an impregnator is breathable you have to keep in mind that breathable means it will allow vapor to escape,,,not liquid. What this means is that if you seal the stone with water sill inside or under it, it could cause the stone to spall. I have seen this many times. Your better off just providing a maintenance program and DO NOT seal it.

Instead urethane caulk use urethane grout made by Bostic. It's flexible and will not crack. You will have to remove at least 1/8"   Of the old grout before you install the new. Deeper if you use cement type grout.

need to be careful and I would not use grout. You will be better off with a soft joint . Perhaps a  urethane caulk
