If all else fails go back do your acid test then proceed. Hone to remove the scratches then probably finish with a 400 or 800 honing powder.

I should of done the acid test. The floor does have scratch. I 1st thought it was granite , but on closer exam, it appears not to be granite. I thought it might have coating on the stone , nothing came off when I used a razor blade. Need to restore to a low sheen .

It looks like it might be limestone but the pictures makes it had to tell. What are you looking to do to this stone. If you wanting to know if you can hone it polish it or leave it at a honed finish, you can test a small area with some acid to see if it will fizz or not. That will at least tell you if calcium based product.
