Roger,
I have found that removing the oils from the elevator button sometimes works better using mineral spirits to mix your poultice with instead of a degreaser. The mineral spirit seem to work better on the oil stains I have had to remove.

Roger
The staining around the elevator button can be removed with a poultice with a good degreaser. It may take several applications.
The salt damage can be hidden with a color enhancer but that doesn't solve or stop the salt damage. Make sure your customer is aware of this.
