DonI never heard of anyone using aluminum oxide to refinish tubs. Generally they are acid etched and painted with an acrylic, The only thing I can think of is that they may be using a course aluminum to rough up the surface for bonding. Polishing grade aluminum wont even touch porcelain.

Hi all:New one for me. Have to do a bid for a hotel with 86 rooms which have soaking tubs. The owners out east say they had a guy who refinishes them out there with aluminum oxide. Has anyone experienced this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
