If you use topical coating in wet areas you asking for trouble. Topical coating will not allow the moisture to evaporate, there fore stone may star failing and topical coats will start blistering and piling of. You may get away with it on the floor but never in the shower.

Hello everyone,

One of our Partners, Phil Campbell, has encountered a situation and is looking for input from the group.

His customer has crema marfil floor and shower in her bathroom. The cleaning people damaged it severely by using the wrong products. The customer is insisting on Phil using a topical product on the restored marble to protect it from etching. Phil and I both felt that as long as the customer does not allow the cleaning company to use any products other than what is specified there is virtually no risk of additional etching. However, the customer is insistent. Phil is leaning toward standing firm with the customer that no topical product is necessary, but before he does he was looking for input from the group.

Any thoughts?
