Good Info here- Do  a test piece by hand to get an idea of what the stone will produce.
I can never tell the difference between leathered and brushed.
Brushes are used in both situations-It seems to depend on the face of the stone and its composition.
To make it even more confusing some people say leathered/brushed finish.
Other people say they want it antiqued all in different finishes like deep , medium  honed , light sheen , river washed , aged, and weathered.
I think you will really like doing it-I wanted to add one thing
You can produce a really nice finish using the brushes with a planetary VS machine in the higher grits.
If you are working with a swing machine you can increase sheen by running diamond impregnated fiber pads dry after the brushes.
Customers love the sheen it produces.

I have done it on limestone. Suggest to do the sample first to get approved by customer. Also add the cost of the tooling to the job. Brushes cost between $50 and $120 each and you will need at least 12 of them.
I bought 3 sets of hand brushes (70, 120, 220 grit) and custom mount them to the driver plate with 5/8-11 bolts.
Cut the floor with 50 resins (may use metals in the future), then used brushes about 10 min / section. I also used 15" floor machine because too much weight will wear off brushes quicker. 300 sq ft took about 14 men hrs.
Last step - charge accordingly.
Good luck
