I recently had a job. The homeowner was a real pain. Turn lights on and off to see if she liked the slight sheen on limestone, if not, she had my guys redo the area. Squatting down and looking up shower walls and pointing out spots that need more work. Having my guys leave on the sealer to point that it was dried on the stone. Having them service areas that was not on my proposal. Look like she was playing twister checking out their work.
She e-mail me that she had more work for me, I responded by telling her to find some one else, she was not happy with that response.

Money talks -bullshit walks!
Most GC and builders we work are good guys-others we must get paid prior to doing any work.
