Adam,

The black and the white is no problem, you should be able to start with a 220, 400, 800 diamond ,5X everything will come out great.  Any black that comes off during the honing process will be vac up. When honing use neutral cleaner in you water the cleaner will keep your slurry suspended and the dark will not attach to your grout. If there is any residue on the white the 5X polishing powders will remove.

Spent the time, you will get the shine !

Exactly-treat it as black marble and have some fun with it.

If if worst possible situation where grout got stained there are ways to deal with that as well.

I am sure that floor will come out great.

Guys and gals,

How do you guys restore checkered board pattern of nero marquina and white marble (can't id the white) with white or used to be white grout lines?

I am worry that gray slurry will discolor the grout which I am sure, wasn't sealed since new.
