Did you use the laticrete one? I thought you meant you used the manufacturers remover on the floor and that would have been mapei. A good remover should work it just needs a lot of dwell time to break down the grout and then you can extract it. Depending on how deep the pores are, grinding may not get it all out either.

don't know Ive only used Laticrete. The builder said that the mapei didn't come with any cleanup anything just saying to use water and now they have a very expensive mess
