Did you use the laticrete one? I thought you meant you used the manufacturers remover on the floor and that would have been mapei. A good remover should work it just needs a lot of dwell time to break down the grout and then you can extract it. Depending on how deep the pores are, grinding may not get it all out either.

Customer has severe epoxy (mapei) grout residue in limestone pores. have tried the grout manufacturers epoxy grout haze remover and K&E coating remover with no effect. Before we grind is there anything else we should try?
