Roger:

When I have done this, I always provide handouts. As previously suggested, explain that you are available as a resource for them. Give them some general info on stone testing, either Stone Care or MIA or MB's site along with what Mike and Anthony have offered will provide a wealth of info. Do they even know the difference between etching/staining, marble classification(MIA), lemon test, radon info, etc. Often, the basic education they have is minimal so I stay basic. Do they know about the history of resins for instance(StoneExpo, MIA). I have also usually provided them with a list of some websites of general info, mine first followed by MIA, Stone and Tile Pros, Stone Alliance, etc.

So, I put on a sport coat, have my handouts put together neatly, and talk about the subjects referenced in the other emails. I usually only have 10 to 15 minutes and that goes by quicker that you think. And with a group like this I always remind myself that although they may know colors, they never know stone as well as we do. Good luck.

All,
I have been asked to make a presentation in front of a group of interior decorators. I will be one of a number of vendors introducing my services..
1st off all I have no public speaking experience, but don't want to pass up this opportunity. Any recommendations on what I should talk about or perhaps someone has a presentation they might let me use!

Thanks,
Roger Konarski
