Subject: RE: [sccpartners] Presentation

Roger,

I give a presentation in front of 30+ business people every week.

Get to the event early and work the room. Be like a host not a guest. Get as many business cards as you can. Write something about each person on the back of their card. Get email addresses, many business people read email instead of answering the phone. Look for the active networkers and introduce yourself.

I am attaching the "elevator speech" template. It's great for "to the point" casual introductions.

During your presentation. Since you will probably be limited on time, think of a quick opening line to grab the attention of the room. Give short descriptions of your best services, name your best referral sources, and avoid "here's how it's done". Be sure to end with your name, company name, and a catchy short tag line.

You don't have to have public speaking experience to be effective. Pick a person in the back of the room and speak to them. Speak loudly enough for this person to hear you well without yelling.
