Austin,

Any chance you have pictures? These always help, a digital camera is always your best friend. Pictures allow us to better indentify the problem.

This sounds like it may be a copper stain that could be coming from the water supply or pipes.

1.       If there is a crusty residue around the stain use a single edge razor blade and scrape off the surface.

2.       If the stain is still there wet the area with soap and water apply ammonia 1 part to 3 parts of warm water and scrub with soft brush.

3.       If this does not work poultice the area using ammonia and a poultice powder.

4.       Apply a piece of plastic over the poultice and put small hole in the plastic to allow the poultice to dry over the next 24 to 36 hours.

5.       Remove poultice after 24 to 36 hours if the stain is gone your done! If the stain only lightens repeat the process.

If possible send pictures

Subject: [sccpartners] Bright Green stain on Madura Gold Granite

Hello Everyone,

I have a client who has Madura Gold Granite with a Dark green stain that has appeared around the sink and on the window sill.  The Granite was just installed a month ago.  Any ideas on how to get this out?
