Hi. We just finished a terra cotta floor and am looking for some advice on slightly toning down the gloss on the sacrificial acrylic coating. We used Aldon SBS sealer as the base and uses two coats of Aldon Lifeguard. Normally this is fine, but the owners want less gloss. The gloss shows off some of the more noticeable defects in the clay such as pitting (which comes across as sparkly) and other defects. We tried using heavier sealant (porous stone sealer) to smooth out the defects, but the difference in density even across one tile made it practically impossible to get an even coat. Also made it too glossy. So we took much of it back down with lacquer thinner and used the Lifeguard over what we had.
Thanks,
Baird
