I have sort of stuck with Aldon products over the years. They are temperamental but I guess I have sort if figured it out over the years. SBS Porous Stone Sealer and Mexiglaze are essentially the same product (solvent base plus solids) in increasing concentration. So SBS mainly color enhances, mexiglaze enhances and glosses and PSS is in between. Any excess can be spot removed with lacquer thinner. Water based Lifeguard is a thin shines sacraficial layer if needed. They also have water based non color enhancing fast drying sealer which is invisible, and doesn't stink (the other stuff really stinks), or crystal glaze which is also water based but shiny. Upu can buy little sample bottles from them for I think about $8 each. Their tech support is mainly by email so not good in a crisis, but they have an encyclopedic if not somewhat convoluted website that actually explains a lot if you spend time with it. I have not tried many of the other sealers out there because it's easier for me to hang with what I know. What I like most about the Aldon solvent based products is that you can go from one sealer to another to fine tune the gloss up or use lacquer thinner to tone it down. I recently toned down the Lifeguard sacrificial coat's gloss with a 400 grit monkey pad (see previous post) and it came out great.

We seal slate floors indoors and outdoors. Enhancers always seem to work well for us. Indoors we use a water base. Outdoors we use a solvent base, because the water base breaks down in the UV light.
