Tony Its hard to tell exactly from the pic.I would say that if you can produce an etch(light acid) on the surface you should be able to remove it.If in fact it is an engineered marble(made in china). But you absolutely need to do some testing. Before we take on any engineered stone we get samples and test first. You have to be careful with these products like John says the warranty can be voided.I have heard mixed reviews of the warranties regarding e-stones.On Sun, Jun 22, 2014 at 12:07 AM, Tony Warney <tony@excelstoneandtilecare.com> wrote:Thanks Stu, I glad I was headed in the right direction. On Sat, Jun 21, 2014 at 12:22 PM, Stu Rosen <rosen.stuart@gmail.com> wrote:
Damned if that doesn't look like what we worked on.It was clearly an engineered marble and had the same type of etching. Can you test a sample piece?

TonyIt doesn't seem like this happened on the install or by the installers due to the age. Do you think it happened overtime? Can you get a piece to test to see what your dealing with. That's a lot of etching going on.Can you tell if it scratches easily-can you etch it with acid. The panels we worked on had a similar look but I cant really see your pic that well.Well we could talk about it all day-Give it a test.--On Thu, Jun 19, 2014 at 9:31 PM, Ron Moore <rmoore@americanstonecare.com> wrote:
Tony,
On vertical application like this with very light etching we have had great success with the 3,000-8,000 grit spinergy pad and the lightest amount of 5x. We make a paste with oxyclean or any detergent and lightly sprinkle the 5x, like your salting your steak, we then polish wet to dry using either grit pad or for very high shine like this we will use both. It's worked well for us.
No need for diamonds in disk form, an etch this light will probably polish out with hogs hair and 5x.
Hope this helps. Take care.
Ron
