Therefore the sender's email address (kcstoneguy@yahoo.com) has been replaced with a dummy one. we mix it runny and trowel it in with a drywall blade...let it dry over night...we grout after 200 resins. Subject: Re: Traverfiil methodBonstones traverfill is a good product and easy to work with.I have used this product on interior/ exterior jobs and it will performs well.As far as traverfills go they are all Portland based products or grout as far as I know.You can use any unsanded grout and a grout additive, latticrete super latex(what we use) or any latex you want.The way to mix the grout with the latex is so you get a nice thick mix that wont fall off your trowel when you hold it at 90 degrees.The trick is in the way you trowel it out.It has to be smooth and the holes should be slightly overfilled.It is important to note that it is wise to try and use the color of the grout so that you wont get any spotting in the joints.That's why I like to be able to chose any color I want.Otherwise you will need to float the grout just over the tiles.Like randy said at least 12 hours generally more and you can cut off with 220 resins and then take the surface wherever you want.If you are going to polish however it may be better to use a product like a poly which is way tougher to remove.There are many new grouts out there to consider-take a look at Tec power grout-25lbs about 50 bucks and look at its specs.Yes I am interested in that product that VMC is selling but find it strange there isn't any tech sheet on it.I would bet it is just a grout with additive already in it. I recently purchased a gallon kit of Bonstone Traverfill, which is a two part material involving both powder and liquid. I tried to find the recent thread where this was discussed, but for some reason I cannot find it. The instructions are fairly vague. They suggest either a mixture of 1 .5 liquid to 5 parts powder by weight, or 2 parts liquid to 7 parts powder by weight. There has to be a better way to gauge the mixture.Also, they do not suggest a curing time.We have cut the floor to 100 grit and my plan is to test some of the areas. Am I on track if I fill after 100, cut the floor with 200 and then continue honing or polishing as necessary? How long do I have to let this stuff dry?ThanksBaird
