Here you can kinda see the splash guard. This tracker floor machine is old. And since has been repainted it original colors. But splash guard has brush on the bottom and is made by the tracker company just for this machine.

Vmc is where we get ours. Actually all our machines are from VMC and the tracker 17'' machine which by the way is awesome...the company makes a splash guard for it. We have two tracker 17 inch then 4 of there CCG machines.

But splash guards are very good

Randy,
What type of splash guards do you use? Are the home made? Can you send a pic?

Don't hate me....We been doing natural stone since 1998. We can count on one hand the times we've taped off walls. We have good splash guards and never have a problem.

We use a variety of masking products from plastics to foams, tyvek paper, etc and while we don't have to many problems with paint(unless were stripping)(and we have a guy who paints and plasters). I agree with Tim it should be in the contract.
It just happens from time to time that some paint can get pulled.

Hector.

I can save you some time on Blue tape,  all the 3 M blue tape I have tested will pull paint. The frog tape will not pull the tape but it won’t stick either.
StoneCare Central has a blue tape that will not pull paint unless the paint is fresh 2 weeks or less. I have used this tape for many years and had no problems pulling paint.
If you leave tape on for days or a week you may have some problems but the best rule is to tape and protect only the areas you are going to that day. Not sure how you operate but my guys hone, polish and complete the floors each day completely. This way the tape is not up long and when the customer comes home they have completed floors.

Good day Gang, what tape do you use for painted wooded baseboards. I know 3m blue ( which we use) says that paint needs 30 days to cure. We just did a job, and they painted house bout 4 months ago and tape still take off paint
