A good challenge for sure-However while you may give the customer some time, spalling is a sign of failure which I have always been under the impression cannot be corrected. Most everyone I have spoken to always point to an installation issue.
I don't think it is repairable to a high standard but it may give them more time.
I think the saying goes  "don't feed a dead horse". The shower will ultimately fail but whose to say when or how much time they will get out of it.
If the contract is well written(and your payed well) and the client understands the deal- why not.

Hello partners. We are looking at a project that includes repair of shower tiles that have spalled along the edges. I believe there was a topical sealer on the tiles (since mostly worn off) that created spalling around the edges. I am looking at either heavy grinding and/ epoxying. The question is whether this is repairable to a high standard or not. I had previously worked on a large lobby with this sort of thing happening. The result was acceptable considering the alternative of replacing all of the tiles but we were not able to get all of the deep fissures out even with metal lippage diamonds. Also we are now looking at a shower with continuing moisture and possible hydrostatic pressure. So question is - should we attempt this? What method if so? or tell them that they should replace the tiles and that a repair will be not up to that standard?  Thanks for your help.
