Sent from my iPhoneThe best way to approach this would be to spray a pH indicator spry on the tile to determine if there is a foreign substance on the tile. If so, attempt to correct by using the opposite pH to correct.

We did the same. Walker Zanger said there is nothing applied to the tile but when water, coffe and other things got on the stone it looked like it was etched. After we cleaned it we have not heard of any further problems and the customer has beed using out neutral cleaner to maintain it.On Wednesday, September 24, 2014 5:08 AM, Pat Staples <cpstaples@msn.com> wrote:
Bill,It's Carl,I'm figuring the same thing as you, either something was put on it or the coloring in the tiles washed out leaving it looking etched. We took new tiles out of the box and they looked the same as the undamaged tiles so who knows what was done at the factory.----- Original Message -----Sent: Tuesday, September 23, 2014 8:37 PMSubject: Re: Porcelain

Pat, I had one a few years back. It seemed to had some type of sealer that was allowed to dry on it. I can not say what it was but we went in for Walker Zanger to see what we could do. We cleaned it with a degreaser using a a 3m green pad to remove what was ever on the surface and it took care of the problem. When we cleaned it the tile was lighter when we got done so it seemed to me that something was put on but it would not scrape off with a blade and really showed no visual signs of anything but even water would leave marks prior to our cleaning.Hope this helps.Bill SelikGourmet Stone CareOn Tuesday, September 23, 2014 5:05 PM, Pat Staples <cpstaples@msn.com> wrote:
Did anybody ever see something like this happen on a new Porcelain floor. They said it is a spill from coffee. Then the tile supplier recommended cleaning with Aqua Mix tile & grout cleaner (alkaline) and the same thing happened. No residue on surface, can't feel a difference on tiles, if you wet it, it darkens for a split second<680F.jpg>Visit list archives, subscribe, unsubscribe or change your subscription preferences: http://stoneandtilepros.simplelists.com/sccpartners Start a new conversation (thread): sccpartners@stoneandtilepros.simplelists.comVisit list archives, subscribe, unsubscribe or change your subscription preferences: http://stoneandtilepros.simplelists.com/sccpartners Start a new conversation (thread): sccpartners@stoneandtilepros.simplelists.comVisit list archives, subscribe, unsubscribe or change your subscription preferences: http://stoneandtilepros.simplelists.com/sccpartners Start a new conversation (thread): sccpartners@stoneandtilepros.simplelists.comVisit list archives, subscribe, unsubscribe or change your subscription preferences: http://stoneandtilepros.simplelists.com/sccpartners Start a new conversation (thread): sccpartners@stoneandtilepros.simplelists.comVisit list archives, subscribe, unsubscribe or change your subscription preferences: http://stoneandtilepros.simplelists.com/sccpartners Start a new conversation (thread): sccpartners@stoneandtilepros.simplelists.comVisit list archives, subscribe, unsubscribe or change your subscription preferences: http://stoneandtilepros.simplelists.com/sccpartners Start a new conversation (thread): sccpartners@stoneandtilepros.simplelists.com
