Older terracotta floors can have an array of coatings on them-wax being the easiest to remove.
You need to do some testing to find out  what is on the surface and that you can remove it.
You will need a plan for the grout lines and what products you will use to give your client the look they want.
Its quite involved from the start to the finish.

I have a client with a terra-cotta floor in a 4 season sunroom that was installed about 25 years ago. It looks as though it was waxed at the time and definitely needs to be stripped and redone.
It would be my first time working with terra-cotta so i'm looking for advice here.
