Did you try using light colored granite polishing powders ? sometime these stone have hard and soft areas in the stone and the use of the normal polishing powders will not polish. The light colored granite polishing powder sometime make the difference.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I did several tests on sample tiles and didn't get what I was looking for. My goal was to duplicate gloss which was on atrium tiles and some of lobby tiles. I honed samples up to 3000 grit and polished with mb 12 wet to dry. That gave me best reults but clarity was still off. In the process i tried to find the acceptable minimum and what was needed to accomplish my goal. I played with densifier, 5x, mb22, mb20 and crystalizer all gave marginal results. With th8s project I am not planning on honining over 800 grit because customer is not going to pay for that and since the tiles are in the shape of planks with lot of grout lines i will have a problem with the picture framing. Personally I think the mineral composition of this tiles varies and that is the reason why some tiles are glossy and some not. However i am surprised that i couldn't duplicate the results on those glossy tiles.

Here's an inexpensive idea. Grind up to 400 grit then apply a liquid hardener like Prime Grind. Once the floor has been densified grind with your diamonds up to 1800. Purchase a blue dot (3000 grit) a yellow dot (8000) spinergy pad from a janitorial supply company like Cleaners Closet. I think the pads run about $65 per. They last for a few thousand square feet and the price is affordable. If you can, apply weight to your floor machine. Use little water, not alot. These pads are effective. We used this process on a combination floor an installer did a horrible job on. Quarter inch lippage etc......very bad. The floor was in the National Archives in Washington, DC.
