Try faber deterfug a light phosphoric dilution and or deterfug a stronger phosphoric solution. I would make a pad out of paper towels and let the deterfug sit for a few hours then brush and sand off stubborn areas.
You could then use the disycott on a rag to remove concentrations of calcium. Then back to abrasives that are flexible such as electroplated and or sandpaper.

Hi Blain, there’s many ways to do it but as long as it has a matte honed finish I would use a course & fine stainless steel wool sponge to reduce down the mineral deposits.
Do a test first to make sure you’re not scratching it up.
We also use wire wheels on drills.  You have to find the right grit. Some will just make it shiny and others will scratch up the surface.
You got a find one in between that will just remove the mineral deposits without damaging the stone.
Once you find the right wire wheel, you could blow through it pretty quick, Then use a dip, pad center punch out probably 200 grit. Or whatever you need to match the finish.
You can wire wheel the grout joints too.
It may turn black, but washes right off.
Use a magnet to pick up loose wires from the wheels. Wear goggles

On the tile surface, same process but finish with Bio-clean hard water, stain remover with a variable speed hand polisher on a 5” or 7” white pad.

Good luck!

We would media blast that. Similar to what pool companies do to waterline tile.

Subject: Fountain with massive calcium deposits on marble

How would you attack the calcium buildup on this brown marble? Part of the challenge is the texture on the bowl, as well as rounded edges of the trim.
