Premium 5X and other proprietary conditioners which do exactly as you said. They help harden the stone, reduce acid splatter etches, and can generally improve gloss on many calcareous stones and terrazzo. All of the compounds on the market have basically been copying from the original product I helped todevelop over 20 years ago with VIC. Of course the Majestic Compound uses only the best ingredients starting with the finest grade of 5X availableanywhere in the world. All restoration professionals should have both the straight 5X and some Stone Polishing Compound as thesetwo are probably the most used in the world. Also some Majestic a Spray Crystallizer to give that extra color and5+ points on the gloss meter where required.Sent from Bob Murrell's iPhone865-607-0957doesn't seem to leave as many splash mark/etching when polishing, I honestly think it is just 5 X polish with some kind of liquid added to it. It has the same characteristics as 5x if you examine it close

Hi Carl. How does the liquid polish compare to powder polishes? I have never used the liquid. Thanks,Baird

It improved the graininess tremendously.
Any Travertine jobs I get in the future I will definitely use the Lithium Hardener

Prosoco isn’t the most reliable when talking natural stone. I will try it in next day or two and report back.

Grind and fill works by replacing the water in the grind, you soak the floor with it and work it till dry. We have used it with 70 and 120 metals and even 50 resins with no issues.
Best Regards,Randy Frye, CEI Surface Pros239-253-1991Hi Carl. Unfortunately I have never used the product. I was just speculating on what would happen. The only products that I have used on travertine are traver-fil (from VMC) and the epoxy travertine filler, which is just buff colored tanax. They have worked will for me.B

It looks like the floor would have to be ground dry and perhaps with metal diamond in order to create enough dust to mix with the grind -n-fill. I see that working on concrete but maybe not on travertine?B

Too bad nobody local stocks it. it is something that I'm going to get so I have it all times.

We haven't tried this yet, but will soon. This maybe something for this job : for filling of travertine holes after a grind ... on the last metal step use Prosoco's grind and fill. Then densify. Just a thought.

You might want to double check to see how long the densifier should be on before starting your cutting begins. Some say once it is dry some say an hour some say overnight.
Best Regards,Randy Frye, CEI Surface ProsDoing testing tomorrow, I will let you know how it turns out

Working with that type lower quality travertine can be tough. It doesn't look good in any finish .Always seems to look smudgy.I haven't tried densifier on travertine yet but I have read and heard it may help. What we do when we run across this is to do a few sample finishes for the customer and let them pick one.I think most chose the deeper honed finish.I would like to know if you do some testing with densifier and results..
Sent from my iPhoneYikes!! look at the lippage, need to be ground flat. a maintenance pad will clean up a lot of the graininess, maybe start at 400 go to 800

Hello everybody,
We have a Travertine floor with a lot of graininess in it.
How well do the Densifiers/Lithium Hardeners work to remove/fill the graininess
Thank you
