The interesting thing about painting tile is if you don't get it right, you are married to a mess.  There are a lot of considerations.
  1.  Is it vertical or horizontal?
  2. Will it have abrasion ( chairs or things dragging across?)
  3. Will it be subject to any particular chemicals or is it exterior?
  4. Since many products that are really durable are solvent based, if you are looking at an interior application, will it be safe for pets and people as it is off gassing?
  5. What is the maintenance?  Will you be applying a clear sacrificial coat on top ( please say yes)?
  6. How long until full cure?  Many of those products are 72 hours
  7. How often will this need to be done?
These are just a few questions that come to mind.  I would think at least ten times before I chose this on a horizontal surface and I apply pigmented sealers outside all of the time.  Make sure that you are clear with the customer about expectations and don't guarantee anything.  It could be a costly repair if something goes sideways.

True three part Awl Grip epoxy, will bond well to almost any glazed tile,
is very durable. Can be applied with a roller, then requires being brushed out.
But then cures flat, and reflective.
My two cents

Yeah agree with Fred-we have done a few and then top coated the paint using TK6. Now I think we have the ability to use Adsil microguard on top of the paint

This all depends on the type of tile. Generally, you would wanna use an epoxy paint as opposed to an acrylic. There are also specific paints for painting tile.

Hi All -

Quick question that has probably been asked before... has anyone had any experience with painting tile?  Are there any particular products or brands that you recommend for changing the color of tile and if so, what is the success and longevity of this process?  Thx!
