I am try ing to talk him out of it. He is on the beach and it keeps turning white. We did some samples of pieces darkened with stone darkner. They left the pieces outside and they turned a little white over 5 months. I think he is trying to avoid yearly maintenance.  $ 6-8 million dollar home. Go figure

I really like sandblasted cohiba.
Why does he want to change the finish.
Is it a maintenance issue?

There is also the possibility of crystal damage and you may have to grind a little deeper than the hone just to get that out. Do a sample!

Tony,

This entire job is going to require a LOT of grinding. On the surface the blasting will have penetrated into the stone deeper in some areas verses other depending upon the minerals in the stone, hard spots  soft spots.

Edges may need to be hone with a fabricating edge tool  using various grits. Edges where you cannot use your hand tool you may want to use the cheetah p0ads Dana has made for the isolating tool.

You need to test , test before you price

Subject: Honing sand blasted Cohiba Granite

I have a client that has sand blasted Cohiba Granite installed out side on the beach. About 3000 sf.

There are a lot of steps and edges that are angled. He wants everything honed. What would be the best way to do the steps, face of steps and edges? This would incur a lot grinding by hand. Also what about the areas you cannot get with hand grinders?

Thanks Tony
