Tony
I would have to see it -you mentioned there is a lot of hand and small work to do.
Do a bench test on a spare piece of the stock using a Makita just to see what it takes to remove the texture.
That will give you a better idea of the pricing once you know what it takes to cut it.
The surface because of the sandblasting is already broke for you.
Just with a guess its easily a $10.00 a square foot and that doesn't allow for the small work.
I would say this should be a 40/50,000 dollar job. But you will know better once you cut the surface.
If he doesn't shy away from that-after the bench test charge him to do a onsite test using a heavy ridged variable speed planetary.Take it up to a certain point with diamonds then switch to antiqueing brushes to bring in some color and tighten up the surface or just color enhance.
We have a new color enhancer that is 100% solids and may last a bit longer than the Akemi which is a pretty good product.

Tony-try a sample with sigma seal from Sparks.
It is made for exterior applications.
Pretty durable.
I have used it on some terracotta patios .
It may actually work quite well.
Pretty normal for enhancers to fade after some time.
Which color enhancer did you use.

Tony,

This entire job is going to require a LOT of grinding. On the surface the blasting will have penetrated into the stone deeper in some areas verses other depending upon the minerals in the stone, hard spots  soft spots.

Edges may need to be hone with a fabricating edge tool  using various grits. Edges where you cannot use your hand tool you may want to use the cheetah p0ads Dana has made for the isolating tool.

You need to test , test before you price

Subject: Honing sand blasted Cohiba Granite

I have a client that has sand blasted Cohiba Granite installed out side on the beach. About 3000 sf.

There are a lot of steps and edges that are angled. He wants everything honed. What would be the best way to do the steps, face of steps and edges? This would incur a lot grinding by hand. Also what about the areas you cannot get with hand grinders?

Thanks Tony
