Hey Fred,

Soapstone crossed my mind for sure but it seemed to be harder so maybe its basalt. These are two great choices.

Thanks Fred!

Sure looks like soapstone to me. Or even a basalt of some sort

Hey,

I have an update on this table. After playing around with this table during the demonstration, I was able to hone the bottom of it with my mbstone inferno marble diamond disk. This was the only disk I had that didnt leave any scratches. In the end, I used 1800 honing powder to remove the finish and it came off with no problem. Then, I used sccpro color enhance impregnator and the sample area turned out great.

I still dont know what type of stone this is but I know that it isnt granite or an engineered stone. The honed look of the stone around 400 grit looked like black marble, but it wouldn't polish after the 1800 grit. The stone stilled looked honed. Then, I applied the color enhancer impregnator, and it darkened and looked great.

Does anyone know what type of stone behaves this way?

According to the owner, it was specially designed around
