Tumbled Travertine usually has a honed matte appearance.
Plastic like or somewhat shiny look can be Representative of a brushed surface.
It can also be an indication of a coating-test with a razor blade.
Refinishing tumbled stone can be done using low grit honing powders and sometimes color enhancers.
the plastic like look can be replicated using diamond impregnated pads and or antiquing brushes.( higher grit run dry).
