My Pleasure-the surface is probably somewhat featured which could indicate brushed as well.
Let us know if you need any input on using or obtaining brushes.
There are several different types.
They also come in different sizes-frankfurts for floor machines. We run three on a pad driver.
4 and 5 inch(snail lock) round brushes for hand tools.
The grits can start around 36 and go as high as 800(you can get a nice shiny effect using brushes in the 400/600 grit range.

Stuart,

Thanks for your assessment. I think the brushed travertine is really what we're talking about, as there is not a topical finish or coating.

Tumbled Travertine usually has a honed matte appearance.
Plastic like or somewhat shiny look can be Representative of a brushed surface.
It can also be an indication of a coating-test with a razor blade.
Refinishing tumbled stone can be done using low grit honing powders and sometimes color enhancers.
the plastic like look can be replicated using diamond impregnated pads and or antiquing brushes.( higher grit run dry).

I'm looking for some guidance on returning the factory finish to what I refer to as tumbled travertine. After the scratch repair would be completed, what's your best recommendation on mimicking the original finish that is smooth with a plastic - like appearance. Picture attached...
