An intensive cleaning will make the stone and joints look good. A light honing using DIP’s should suffice for the stone. You will need to clarify what the scope is regarding filling. There are many holes or pits that may be too shallow to fill. You need to determine what size holes can be filled and that she understands that travertine looks to be filled with grout when installed .
The grout shrinks back and leaves an area that will soil and need maintenance occasionally.

When you hone a travertine or limestone floor you normally open up "holes" that have to be filled. So by default you'll end up grouting the floor to fill them. I always figure a value added price for this service when I give them the estimate. This gives them the option to "give" you more money! They should ok the grout color as well.

I think the cleaning, honing, and/or polishing should make a a significant improvement at lightening up the surface.
Good luck

I have a potential client who wants to have her travertine floors brightened up. She basically wants the grout filler to  be colored seated. She has been talking to other companies who suggested having the floor floated or color sealed. Does anybody have experience with that?
I’m doing a cleaning and honing/polishing sample for her but not sure if that will satisfy her expectation.
