First check to make sure this is not a patch, then I would start with a 40 to 50 grit steel diamond, cut the floor until you have all the terrazzo chips exposed then go to 100 metal diamond . after the metal diamonds then go back to resin 50,120 200, etc.

The first cut is the most important cut make sure all the stone are exposed then move on .

Subject: Remove excess concrete/mortar from Terrazzo

I'm looking for your preferred method and guidance to remove concrete from a Terrazzo floor. The floor was installed in the 60's. Customer is doing a renovation and removed some cabinets. In the attached pictures, you'll see the buildup in the lighter colored areas where these cabinets were. Acid? Metal Grinding? Combination? Other? Thanks for your input.
