Once the slate starts to flake like that there in not much you can do to prevent from continuing to flake..The enhancer will only darker the stone

This slate is on an exterior patio. In some areas it's chipping off. I want to use a solvent based enhancer on it. Is there any way to arrest the chipping off of the slate? Will The enhancer possibly inhibit the chipping? Stuart at Santa Fe Floor Care
