Agree with randy-the single segments will work well.
If you don't use a a planetary-diabrush makes a 25 grit pad driver that will pretty much remove any type of mastics.
You can run it on a standard swing machine but we have always used it on our levighetor 4hp swing machine.
It doesn't bog down.
