Thanks for the reply, Stu.  What they want to do is polish the whole table (12’x2’). The black marble in the field has some etching which would come out with the polishing.  My question is “Will the other stones behave like the marble?” Will they polish up?

These can be one of  kind pieces-Consider risk to reward.
The piece that I see doesn't look bad at all.
