Thanks for feedback John, that is standard procedure on all new hires.

Agree, do not hire an experience person, you will never get them to do the work the way you do it and in most cases your might be hiring someone that can polish but does not understand the honing process or they are skilled crystallizers..

My last two tech were hired from ads on Craig’s list . ad read  marble and Stone restoration tech needed, no experience needed will train and starting wage. Send resume .

The first thing I look for is a clean driving record, if they cannot drive my truck they are no good to me ,second  background check, both state and federal , if they pass these two then it on to the second interview.

FYI , if you are not doing background checks on your employees and there is a problem and the employee had a past record and you hire them you could be responsible.

Some hiring advise that I have learned over the years

Do not hire anyone experienced, you only will have to undo bad habits

hire someone who has hand skills..Someone in another trade that knows how to use power tools

Hi all,

We are in the Houston-Metro market and are looking for a new stone technician. Do any of you know anyone looking in this market that may be interested?

Never hurts to ask!
