Would it matter if I put 2 machines on 1 pallet? It was 40x48x56 500 lbs. 2 machines on each pallet shipped to different locations----- Original Message -----From: stuart rosenSent: Thursday, September 10, 2015 1:36 PMSubject: Re: PartnerShip Shipping CompanyBetter yet send the corrected B/L to partnership and have them handle it. They have a relationship with the carrier already.Well notedTrucking companies fall under Tariff rules-if the MIA cant help you-correct your B/L to read-
General Machinery in boxes NMFC Item#133300 class 60, weight 200 lbs
48 x 20 x 23 dims,15.66 PCFIf you put the box on a pallet the item number remains he same but the class changes to a 70.Trucking companies in most cases honor corrected B/L but you will have to contact the billing of the carrier,

Stu,Partnership put it as a class 65 and as floor buffers on the bol, yrc changed it to a class 125 and over doubled the costs. If partnership would have initially quoted higher I have no problem paying it because the customer pays shipping. But they expect me to eat it because someone else screwed up. Not happening, I have the MIA helping me out with it. I'll let you know how I make outI look at it the same way I do when I bid a job, I give a customer a price and explain what needs to be done. If I get there and it entails more then what I quoted then shame on me for not bidding it correctly. I just can't see going to the customer and saying sorry its going to cost more because I didn't notice this or that.----- Original Message -----From: stuart rosenSent: Thursday, September 10, 2015 12:33 PMSubject: Re: PartnerShip Shipping CompanySome carriers can legally change rates to a higher class when improper or non existent descriptions are shown on the B/L.I can get you the correct info to counter their claim. If you like you can send me a copy of your bill or pro that shows how they rated it-you can cutoff the consignee info except for the destination zip-Carlyou need to send them a corrected bill of lading with the proper description and item numbers.

Just letting everybody know that if you are using PartnerShip Shipping Company to check your rates and classifications.
I shipped a couple of my floor machines to 2 different locations 2 weeks ago and they quoted me $455.96 and then invoiced me $1,027.12 and for the other one they quoted me $451.42 and invoiced me $850.19
Then they told me I have to pay it because the shipping company changed classifications on me.
I told them I’m only paying them what they quoted me.
Just figured I would let you know if you are using them
